Daniel Roi Calingasan is a Filipino Banduria player, trained in the University of the Philippines College of Music – home to some of the country’s best musicians and educators. He is the first in the history of the University to graduate with a degree majoring in banduria performance. Currently, he is a member of Padayon Rondalla – an ensemble of young musicians who has performed in numerous local and international festivals; some of which are the 2018 China-ASEAN Music Festival (China), the 5th International Plucked String Festival (Philippines), and the Yilan International Children’s Folklore and Folkgame Festival (Taiwan). He also performs with the UP Tugtugang Musika Asyatika and YON 四 – music groups with repertoires from East and Southeast Asia.
