Dini Pratiwi was born in Jakarta, Indonesia, 1992. She started studying piano at 5 years old and violin at 11 years old. Since 2017, Dini also started learning Indonesian traditional instruments, such as Javanese gamelan (bonang, peking, saron, demung, slenthem, and gong), Sundanese gambang bamboo and Wakatobi gambus guitar (Southeast Sulawesi). In 2018, she joined Saptasuara Gamelan Ensemble and has performed in Jakarta National Museum, National Library, Textile Museum and others. In 2017, Dini was chosen as a music tutor by Indonesian Ministry of Culture and Education to teach music, perform and arrange a traditional cultural performance in Wakatobi, Southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia. Together with local musicians from Wakatobi, Southeast Sulawesi, she developed Wakatobi traditional music for traditional dance.
Since 2007 until now, she has been actively involved in various orchestras in Indonesia as a violinist, such as Jakarta City Philharmonic, Twilite Youth Orchestra, Twilite Orchestra, Jakarta Concordia Orchestra, and Concord Harmony Baroque Chamber. She is chosen to join SEAMEX 2019 as a violin tutti player at ASEAN Youth Orchestra 2019. Dini was appointed as an assistant conductor at Jakarta City Philharmonic from 2016 to 2017.
